Sarongs are one of the most widely used garments in the world.
Sarongs are traditionally worn by men, women and children throughout Asia, Africa and Polynesia. They have a variety of uses and are quickly becoming popular throughout the rest of the world. If you don’t use your sarong at the beach, use it as a table covering, furniture throw or wall hanging.

The fabric used in a North American sarong is usually light, like rayon and are quite hip. But more importantly, they are comfortable and very adorable!

Sarongs are single pieces of fabric that are wrapped around the waist and worn as full body wraps or skirts by both men and women in Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands and India (in the Western world, they’re generally worn only by women). Sarongs are often brightly colored and have detailed patterns (usually flowers, geometric shapes or tie-dyed).

Geography
There are many different types of sarongs out there. Some sarongs have straight edges, while others come with decorative fringe on their ends. Some sarongs come in solid, plain colors, while others are decorated with intricate patterns. There are also very long sarongs, while some sarongs are so short they can barely be wrapped around the body.

Potential
Sarongs have a lot of potential as outfits. They can be worn for casual wear, and are also great for beach attire (many people wear sarongs over their swimsuits when they’re relaxing on the beach). They are also terrific respectful apparel for visiting mosques or temples. Not to mention, sarongs are so comfortable that they are ideal to wear on long plane, train or car rides.

Considerations
If you have more sarongs than you know what to do with, never fret, as sarongs have countless practical and fun applications other than simply being clothes. They can be shower curtains, gift wrap, play blankets for kids, towels, pillow cover ups, furniture cover ups and much more.
